A pixel art is a form of digital art that is created through raster graphics software where images can be edited on the pixel level. Creating or modifying pixel art, characters or objects for video games is called spritting. The term pixel art was created by Adele Goldberg and Robert Flegal of the Xerox Palo Alto research center in 1982.Traditional forms of art like counted thread embroidery and mosaic bead work are similar forms of pixel art. Pixel art is stored in a file format utilizing lossless data compression like run length compression like run length encoding or indexed color palette.
